Our History

Mid-LAND Contracting is a leading, locally owned and run grounds and garden maintenance business. Based in Temuka, South Canterbury and is now employing over 40 staff. 

Mid-LAND Contracting has a successful track record on offering clients a full complement of services - from routine garden maintenance to major tree work.

Mid-LAND Contracting is known and respected for the quality of its work and the sound horticultural knowledge of the team.  
Mid-LAND Contracting was established in 1996 with the main work of mowing various school grounds within South Canterbury. During the next 7 years Mid-LAND Contracting won a variety of contracts with the Timaru District Council maintaining various Parks, Reserves and grounds maintenance.

In 2003 Allan & Barbara Jones bought out the other founding partners, Mark & Jenny Timblick, and built the business into what it is today.

Mid-LAND Contracting has continued to grow and currently employ over 40 staff who maintain Parks, Reserves, Schools, sports fields, businesses, private homes and also undertake landscape design and construction.

Mid-LAND Contracting has built up a proven and proud record with many clients by providing professional quality service. Our primary objectives are to provide a very high standard of service in all facets of contractual tasks by employing experienced  and motivated staff, reinforcing Mid-LAND’s policy and philosophy:-

Mid-LAND Contracting work is split into two main areas.  One being private work and the other being contract work for Councils, Government Departments and other businesses. Mid-LAND Contracting currently holds eleven contracts with the Timaru District Council. The Timaru District Council contracts include roads and streets, landscapes maintenance, parks and reserves maintenance, cemetery maintenance.
